Pastor Mark Biebighauser

I came to Ascension of Christ in June of 2008 after completing my Master of Divinity from Concordia Seminary in Saint Louis. This is my first call as a pastor, and I am both excited and humbled to go about the LORD’s work here in this community. My wife’s name is Joni, and we are expecting our first child in late September. We have been married for four years and have spend time living in Saint Louis, Hot Springs (Arkansas), and now in the Detroit metro area.

We both believe that God has big plans for his entire creation. We know that the church has an amazing mission and responsibility to work for God’s kingdom here on earth as it is in heaven. To be honest, it is overwhelming to think that God wants to use people like us as instruments of his redeeming work. Please let me know if there is anything that I can do for you or if you have any questions about the ministry here at Ascension of Christ. All of us would love for you to join up with us as we join up with God’s kingdom-work. I hope to see you soon.

Pastor Emeritus Ronald Farah

Photo of Pastor RonThe pastoral ministry provides an opportunity for me to share with people the greatest Message the world could ever hope to hear. When people look inside themselves they admit they have some serious questions about the meaning of life and what happens after death. I believe the Christian message answers these questions better than any religion or philosophy know to mankind. I cannot begin to describe to you the joy and excitement I have when I experience and/or have the opportunity to experience that message with someone. Come and join us, I really want you to hear that message.

Christopher Kitzman, Music Director

Photo of Chris KitzmanI came to Ascension of Christ in the spring of 2006 as interim Director of Music, and ended up finding a permanent home, and am proud to call the members of Ascension family. I am excited about being a major part of the Music Ministry and watching it grow into something spectacular. We have a small but powerful choir, hand bells and now not just one but four praise teams and we are still growing. I enjoy working with the children and teaching them to praise Christ through music. I will continue to bring in Christian musical guests, seek out the hidden talents from within our congregation, and create special musical experiences throughout the year. It is my goal and mission to spread the gospel and worship Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord through the glory of music.

Cindy Grove, Office Manager

Photo of Cindy Grove and familyOften described as a “people person”, my role at Ascension of Christ is just that. As Office Manager and Director of “Mom’s Morning Out” (a community outreach program designed for toddlers), I’m given the opportunity to make connections with people of all ages. Engaging in conversation with those who walk through the door for the first time as well as those I see on a regular basis allows me to share the love of Christ through my Christian faith and the passion of my work. Connections, building relationships, and the love for God’s people sums up Ascension of Christ and what I do here.

Al Wagner, Office Assistant

Photo of Al WagnerThe love of God, His Church and Ascension of Christ is why, after retiring, I volunteered to do various duties at our church. I enjoy doing the tasks and feel I am doing what God wants me to, in order to keep his Church and Ascension of Christ operating. I felt honored when given the title of “Office Assistant” and considered one of the staff.
